Cantaloupe

Cool and refreshing, cantaloupe is one of my very favorites and holds a big spot in taste for me! As far as melon flavors, and depending on how you use this one, with or without mango, both have a way of adding body and a fabulous texture, along with great realistic tastes, if you keep it all within a best used range!

I had at one time a really good recipe called Beach Cone. It was an orange ice cream cone, like the kind you can get at the beach, with the hard shell type coating and the waffle cone taste, unbelievable. The secret is this, cantaloupe! I know its hard to believe that an orange ice cream can have a cantaloupe flavor in it, but this lent a good texture to the ice cream and bonded with the oranges I added in for the soft serve orange ice cream! I bet it would even work out with peaches!

I remember running tests on this one, as it was the next flavor I fell for, right after alpine strawberry! I ran at least 5 bottles of it, ranging from 1 drop .02 grams, 3 drops .06 grams, 6 drops .12 grams and 9 drops .18 grams, in a 10ml bottle. The first drop, very faint mellon, not really distinguishable as a cantaloupe, per say, but as a light mellon I wanted more! I snagged the 6 drops then, and omg.. juicy flavor just really to tickle my tongue and the ideas I had! I think I had cleared up my area, and even tho I labeled my bottles, a few weeks later I grabbed one (not looking, I always seem to try out things without reading what I did first!) and I went into shock! The recipe I had created, even tho it was a one try omg everyone has to have it, this amount I had used, was like a burnt mellon ready for the recycle bin! Do not think on pushing this flavor, it almost turned me off using it too high! Grateful it didn’t, as I have a bunch of  my recipes with “loupes” in them now. I make sure to keep a big bottle around these days.

Mixed up Cantaloupes 30ml

12 drops .24 grams Cantaloupe
6 drops .12 grams Strawberry
6 drops .12 grams Cream
6 drops .12 grams Greek Yogurt
3 drops .06 grams Acai
3 drops .06 grams Blueberry
3 drops .06 grams Basil
3 drops .06 grams Lime

Cool, refreshing with a hint of spice (from the basil, do not be afraid to use this flavor, it lends character to an otherwise ordinary fruit blend!)  I let this sit up for a few days, then add in some cool menthol to chill it a bit more, maybe 4-6 drops .08=.10 grams.. Try it out and let me know what you think! 🙂

Candy Roll

There are many secrets to candy roll!  Only if you have run your testing on it, will you find out, but let me help you along the way. Flavorah says it is a sweet fruit base note to use with fruits and berries. It imparts the flavor of a rolled candy like Smarties or Sweetarts that can be an excellent canvas for other fruit. Yes, this is true, it can taste like a smartie or sweet tart, but it puts the “shiny sugar-ish taste on things like a lifesaver, or a werther’s butterscotch or caramel roll, too. It can make banana runts, as well! (see my banana recipe!) haha!! Candy Roll really can be fun to play with!

I will not break this flavor down, I will however, leave it up to you to discover it’s secrets!

Fruit Roll UPs 30ml

6 drops .12 grams Blood Orange**
3 drops .06 grams Candy Roll
3 drops .06 grams Cotton Candy
3 drops .06 grams Marshmallow

Simple fruit roll up. You can sub the fruit out for things like grape, apple, banana, etc.. You can try it out after an over night sit, but it does get even better after a few days. If you need to increase the flavors, only try 1 drop per all of the flavors at a time. do not exceed 12 drops per flavor, as this can and will go funky on you!
(floral), especially candy roll!

Note: if you are aiming for a sweet tart effect, you might want to try adding in some cream or other dairy, along with the new Pucker flavor, to this recipe.

Butterscotch

Flavorah’s butterscotch is just as it sounds, all buttery with a background of thick rich and deep scotchy sweetness! This is def a “helper” flavor, as no matter what amount you use this in, it will shine as well as assist other flavors!

If you take it from my range, 2 drops .04 grams in 10mls, you will get a spun sugary, buttery taste. Raise it up a bit, at 4 drops .08 grams, the buttery comes out to play well, and at 6 drops .12 grams, this flavor just shines. Raise it up again to 8 drops .16 grams and it only gets thicker, with mouthfeel as well as with sweetness. I have noticed, there are spots in using this flavor that will cause different effects, like muting out, or mutations after a long sit time of 3-4 weeks. If you are noticing anything like this, back down on your amounts, and the flavor will last a longer period of time.

Butterscotch Pudding 30ml

9 drops .18 grams Butterscotch
6 drops .12 grams Marshmallow
6 drops .12 grams Vanilla Pudding
3 drops .06 grams White Chocolate

Will keep my pudding recipe simple here, but it is easy to get carried away with the flavors! You should let this sit for at least a few days, to let the flavors mingle and party. It is a thick rich butterscotch pudding with hints of white chocolate running around and teasing your tongue! If this is too light for you, increase by 1 extra drop per flavor, do not exceed more than 3 extra drops per flavor, as your wait time will increase, as well as the risk of muting out later. Enjoy! 🙂

Bubble Gum

Bubble gum, so much fun! The things you can do with this particular flavor still amuses me and gives me giggles! Not sure if everyone is aware, but with this one, you can use this as the flavor, as a sweetener, as a “body feel” and even to give support to other flavors, it is a multi use flavor, for sure! It all depends on how you use it, how light, how heavy, so in the end, it’s up to you on usage! I tend to use this more with fruits but when you add a cream to the fruit mix, it will turn out even better!

Because this is a high concentrated flavor, let me tell you how I tested this one out. Running again on drops and 10ml bottles, 3 drops .06 grams will give you a hint of flavor in a tank, dripper, you will pick up the taste at this point. At 6 drops .12 grams, it is more like a hubba bubba type, at 9 drops .18 grams, it has a good taste and feel, but with a chemtrail attached!! Keep it low! Respect the bubble!! 🙂

Pink Bubble Gum

9 drops .18 grams Bubble Gum
3 drops .06 grams Cotton Candy
3 drops .06 grams Marshmallow
6 drops .12 grams Strawberry
6 drops .12 grams Watermelon
3 drops .06 grams Raspberry

Ready after a all night sit in, it’s really a pink vape! the bubble gum is front and center, the fruits support bubble gum and the cotton candy and marshmallow lend sweetness and mouthfeel. It’s one of my fun vapes, and I love to share it when out and about.. If you try it, let me know what you think of this. I like to watch expressions when people taste this, and I can’t help laughing when they do.. Why chew, when you can vape! 😛

Blueberry

What’s blue and can go squish in your mouth, it’s a blueberry! Flavorah got it right with this one; it’s one of my favorite berries I love to play with I have tossed it into all sorts of recipes and have even used it in sugar cookies, cakes, yogurts and ice creams. Will have to work up my tutorial for adding our flavors to actual food and drink recipes soon, so keep your eyes out!

Before I get too far ahead, let me tell you all about this cool blueberry! at 2 drops .06 grams in 10ml bottles, it’s light, however, if you add other fruits, you can tell it is there. at 4 drops .08 grams it starts to perk up and say hi; it’s right there, the magic begins! at 6 drops .12 grams it’s a mouth full of gorgeous blueberries ready to burst into your mouth, down your chin and make your girl friend gasp! 8 drops .16 grams it starts going funky to me, so I will stop there for now..

Recipes.. I had a hard time picking out a simple recipe, as most of mine are rather complex.. but try this and see how it will spin out for you!

Blueberry French Toast 30ml

12 drops .24 grams blueberry
6 drops .12 grams red raspberry
9 drops .18 grams cinnamon roll
6 drops .12 grams sweet dough
6 drops .12 grams cream
1 drop .02 grams biscotti

Alright, let’s get down to this one.. I didn’t use the full in my face flavor level here for the blueberry, as I know using other flavors, I want to watch how much I use total, and If the blueberry is in your face, how can the other flavors play nice all together? It won’t, it will become a chemical, muted juice real quick!

The red raspberry is added because yes, I love that one just as much as blueberry lol.. it’s also there for a bit of tart and sour sweetness.

Cinnamon roll and the sweet dough go hand in hand together here,  the biscotti I used as an accent for a smoky note for the french toast edges. If you are brave, bump it up a drop! If you want more bready note, remember our friend, ap 5%, use that at around 4 drops .12 grams in your 30ml bottle. I used cream for the whipped topping, however, when it does sit around, it tends to soften the french toast effect. You can add more, but then it’s be a creamy doughy blue raspberry.. gee.. haha! Oh.. if you’d like to really make it pop, add 1 drop .02 grams of pineapple or lime!

Hope you enjoy my recipe for blueberries, and if you have one you’d like to share.. pop it up in comments! ~S.

Blood Orange

OMG!! Finally, my favorite out of everything, blood orange!! Then again, I say this about almost every flavor! I do have a few I have to sit back and say, do I really want to claim this as a favorite? ha!
So, with all that said, let me get right down with this flavor, as it is one of the best representations of the citrus family, with it’s lush bright orange, the bloody sweetness, and the almost candy tones of this one.

Going thru my ranges again, at 2 drops .06 grams, its light but good! Easy on the mouth, but you will need to raise it more! At 4 drops .08 grams, it’s a fantastic blood orange being on the verge of juices running into your mouth, and at 6 drops .12 grams, look out!
9 drops .18 grams, you can probably make aspirin, that chewable kind, combined with Tangerine. Remember, less is more and it doesn’t take much with these flavors, at all! So, let’s see what recipe I can share..

Blood Orange Cake Batter 30ml

12 drops .24 grams Blood Orange
9 drops .18 grams Cake Batter
6 drops .12 grams Red Raspberry
6 drops .12 grams Vanilla Pudding
6 drops .12 grams Caramel
6 drops .12 grams Cheesecake

Let sit for at least a few days, but after a overnight sit you can try it out. Just remember to stop after a taste or two, or you will find yourself with an empty bottle. Go big or stay home!
Not responsible for empty bottles!

Note: I like to add in pineapple, 1-2 drops, to make this pop. it’s optional!

Edit: 5/23/2017 Yet another recipe I want to share!! It’s really simple yet so good!

blood orange basil
Blood Orange Basil Cocktail
12 drops .24 grams Blood Orange
3 drops .06 grams Cotton candy
2 drops .04 grams Marshmallow
6 drops .12 grams Cream
3 drops .06 grams Basil

This is simple, fresh and omg too good. If you want, you can add 1-2 drops of bourbon to this too, for a more realistic cocktail taste. The basil just makes this all come about, so cool calm and a touch of spice.. it’s really a must try! 🙂

Black Cherry

Nothing finer than playing around with black cherry! The drinks and pies, along with creams, shakes, nuts and tobaccos you can dream up, come out amazing! Be careful tho, using too much of this one will result in a chemical and or a mutation, so go easy! This cherry is not for everyone!

Running the range, from 1 drop .02 grams (show some respect for this flavor!) up to 8 drops .16 grams (yes I went there!) in my 10ml bottles, after letting them sit for a few days, 1 drop was very weak, but I did pick up the cherry. At 3 drops .06 grams a spot on black cherry, with skin and a touch of that black cherry body; while 6 drops .12 grams, I can tell I pushed it too much, and picked up a wang to the flavor. At 8 drops .16 grams in my 10ml, I had a definite black cherry with a funky chunky monkey sitting on my taste buds! So my advise is to keep it around 3-5 drops. Pushing it further than this will result in either mutating the flavor as either time goes on, or as a chemical note.

Black Cherry’s Shirley Temple 30ml

12 drops .24 grams Black Cherry
3 drops .06 grams Lime Wedge
6 drops .12 grams Lemonade
4 drops .08 grams Sour Apple
4 drops .08 grams Sweetness
4 drops .08 grams Cool Menthol* Optional

Absolutely perfect after sitting up all night, and gets even better after a few days. I like to add my cool menthol a night before I am ready to really vape this one out. It’s really good fresh, and keeps a chill on this drink vape, just the way I like it!

Berry Blend

Berry blend, is really a good mix and the things I have done with this one amaze me. One mix right after the other, smooth, sweet, tart, bold, light, and tangy, it’s got it all wrapped up inside the bottle!

What to do with all this berry goodness? Well, mix with it, of course! From water, to jello and cookies, even cakes and e juice, there is no limit with berry blend! I took it from 3 drops up to 9 drops in my 10ml bottles. At 3 drops (.06 grams) , it’s a light mixed berry, nice but could be stronger. 6 drops (.18 grams) was very good, fresh berries just bursting in my mouth, and it was closer to the edge when you can pick up something funky; might want to keep this one closer between 3-6 drops in any given recipe, as 8 drops was too much funk! 🙂

Mixed berry Yogurt Bars 30ml

12 drops .24 grams Berry Blend
12 drops .24 grams Yogurt
9 drops .18 grams Sour Apple
6 drops .12 grams Cheesecake
6 drops .12 grams Cool Menthol*
3 drops .06 grams Coconut

This is one of my favorite go to recipes, and for me, it’s a perfect yogurt bar! To thicken it up and give a good mouth feel, you might want to add 6 drops crunch cereal, as well as 6 drops marshmallow. If you like cool pops, the cool menthol will behave as a cool feel, but for colder, up to around 9 drops .18 grams. Do not add the cool menthol until a the day before you want to try this, as cool menthol does have a habit of fading out after a week or more+, at least for me.

Beer Nuts

This flavor is just not your average beer nuts, I can tell you that! Sweet salty nuts with a just a hint of ale, and a hidden surprising plot twist is what this flavor is made of. Let me tell you a few of my adventures with this fantastic flavor!

First I I opened it, I know I was a goner! Nutty caramel (Where is the ale? wait!) smell just hit my nose and I was hooked, just by nose! I knew I better start low, so yes, I did my drops (1 drop = .02 grams/.02ml) starting at 2 drops in 10ml, going up to 4, 6 and 9 drops.

I let them sit up for a couple days, I couldn’t wait any longer! At 2 drops, it was really light, I picked up a really light caramel-ish type taste, but that was all..  sad but I gave me a few hours, cottoned up my coils and dove in again!  4 drops, I remembered the small secret that a few of us old timers know, AP 5% and (you can snag that here!)
2 drops ap (.04 grams), and there she was, Pretzel! Oh my! it was not a nut, but more of a caramel pretzel. I had to go back and check the bottle, but it must have been the ap that did this, at this level, for me.

So, after a break, I came back and tried the 6, less caramel (still noticeable, but not like the 4 drops) and the nut starts to show up. I added the ap again, but it increased the nut and no more pretzel for me! At 9 drops (.18 grams) it is a full blown beer nut, sweet, but a chemical note in 10ml. So…

The ale and how to bring it out! Ready? So I played with this and have more than a few recipes for this totally cool flavor, and I found by adding in some sweet dough, and some Yakima hops, I could get that yeasty ale taste into the beer nuts.. Here is my recipe for that:

Beer Nuts 30ml

12 drops .24 grams Beer Nuts
9 drops .18 grams Sweet Dough
6 drops .12 grams Mango
6 drops .12 grams Yakima Hops

Let this sit up for about 3 days and dig in, love to see what others think of this one. I might release my Beer Nut Shake at a later date. 🙂

Basil

Sweet basil, yes! If you haven’t played with this one, you are missing out! I have toyed with this flavor for the last two days now, and run the range in my 10ml bottles, like usual, 1, 3 and 5 drops, just got giggles! Do not use basil in 10ml with more than 3 drops, just don’t!

First impressions, cool, sweet but spicy, rather impressive! I can see this is varied fruits, creamy nuts and tobaccos. 1 drop (.02grams) is a bit week, 3 is pushing it, so stick with 2 drops in a blended recipe. Trust me, you will enjoy this, even with a name like basil!

Recipe:

Strawberry Spiced Cheesecake 30ml

9 drops .18 grams Cheesecake
4 drops .08 grams Basil
4 drops .08 grams Brie
4 drops .08 grams Yogurt
2 drops .04 grams Alpine strawberry

Let sit for 2 days and then test it out. Remember to shake very very good, every so often while it sits and mingles.. it will love you long time!

Lime Fuzzy 30ml

6 drops .12 grams Lime Wedge
6 drops .12 grams Cool Menthol
4 drops .08 grams Basil
4 drops .08 grams Yogurt
1 drops .02 grams Cucumber

Let sit over night after a quick mix up.. It really did turn out well, surprisingly.. I tried this out maybe 3 hours after mixing, and I bet mine won’t last thru tonight! 🙂 Your taste might vary, but I enjoy this.
You might want to add in some type of orange or citrus flavor too.
