Flavor Notes

Back Bar Bitters

For today let’s go over Back Bar Bitters.. what it is, what you can expect, and how to get a general idea in what to use it in. I hope this will help you in your mixing, and bring you a lot of happy to your juices!

The OG.. Back Bar Bitters!

On to what it is first, once you know this then everything else falls into place! Bitters have been around forever! Mainly used in cocktails, fruits, and anything to give a bitter taste. It is not sour, but bitter. They are close in effect, but only a few drops are needed. If you enjoy the manhattan, the whiskey sours, old fashioned, zombies or even just a bourbon and coke, then you need bitters.

Bitters will not ever change a profile or taste, but it is used as an enhancer, to boost the flavors that are already floating around, to make them become more predominant. This could be used to help those that are “red” flavor blind too. Someone will have to give me more feedback to make that prediction come true tho. 🙂 I know a few already!

My usage runs from 1-3 and sometimes up to 6 bottle drops. You do not need to use this as a 1% type flavoring to gain the benefits of what it can do for your juice. Sample recipe is here:

It did not give any bitter taste, it did make the melons stand up and the lime a touch more pronounced.. a very pleasant mix.. and I do keep this mix in a 4oz bottle.. I love to vape it on occasion for those afternoon breaks. It does need a few days to steep, but it makes for a happy vape!

I am keeping this one short, as I do have some more notes I want to pop up today.. Stay with me!
