Flavor Notes

Melon Rind

Do you remember those summer days, sitting at the picnic table and eating the most delish watermelon, and having a stack of the rinds? Did your grandmother ever make you watermelon rinds? If so, you were lucky! If not.. well.. hang around.. loads of ideas!

Watermelon Rinds..

Used in drinks, Watermelon Rind gives a tart but sweet, a contrast flavor, for sure.. I have used watermelon rinds from 1 drop in 30ml up to 2% and yeah no do not raise this flavor too high.. between .2% and up to .6% is comfy enough.. While I was toying with melon rind, I got to thinking on one of my fav summertime drinks.. the Midori Sour.. check it out.. if you mix it, let me know what you think.

You can use the melon rind in all sorts of things like candy.. which is another of my fav.. and melon rind gives apples a nice pop, an unexpected. Remember.. this is a contrast flavor, so you do not want to add other tart flavors to a mix, as it might take away what you are trying to accomplish..
